Joseph Lee studied mathematics at the University of Hong Kong. He worked in the education field for over twenty years before becoming a professional artist. He is an accomplished painter and writes poems. He has exhibited both in Hong Kong and overseas.
He says: “It is really a blessing to be able to grow up and be educated in Hong Kong. One can access easily both worlds, eastern and western, and the climate does encourage one to take freely and abundantly from both.”
A well-known writer wrote of him: “although he paints in a western medium, his paintings are Chinese in spirit.”
His painting expresses his thoughts and quests. Nature is most of the time his theme; so is the relation of Man with Nature.

Wong Shou Ching, a renowned local artist, was born in the year 1954 in Fujian. He grew up in the countryside, and has since been a lover of Nature. He went in 1989 to London and studied in the Wimbeldon College of Art, where he mastered the various facets of art. Now he paints everyday, and exhibits often.
Shou Ching paints exemplarily in both western oil medium and Chinese ink and brush. He loves both the means of expression in the west and the profound artistic conception in Chinese culture. His paintings reveal his inner feeling – calling for self-restraint in a world seeking after wealth and fame; living upright amid a world of disdain. He is content with what he is, leading a simple life in accordance with his firm conviction, and indefatigable in offering help and advice to his friends. He is thus an ideal Chinese, maybe half Confucian and half Taoist. In these days when the paradigm excessively tilts towards market economy, a person like Shou Ching is really rare.
